Christmas & New Year at Updown

Yes, it’s that time already, and we’re making big plans at Updown this year. Oli’s written a beautiful feasting menu for December and it’s available to pre-book for any party of four or more, so even the most intimate of celebrations can enjoy Roast Duck, Sea Bass with Ceps, or Pumpkin Lasagne.

We have a range of spaces available to book: our beautiful Private Dining Room is the perfect space for parties of four to 14; the Gatehouse with its own terrace is perfect for drinks parties and intimate dinners, and the Library can always be booked for drinks before dinner. The restaurant itself can accommodate up to 70 for a seated meal.

We’ve also got plenty of fun events scheduled for the festive period, with wreath making, a Christmas lights switch on and a pre-Christmas children’s party to get everyone in the mood – all details are on our Events page.

This New Year we’re hosting a very civilised dinner in the restaurant, with cocktails available in the house drawing room and library for all guests, pre and post dinner.

We’re even serving lunch on New Year’s Day for everyone continuing the party, in need of a rather strong Bloody Mary or with children in tow.
